This violin bow was made by Alfred Knoll circa 1975 in West Germany. The Knoll workshop was founded in 1932 by Alfred and was located close to the Czech border and only 15 miles from Markneukirchen, Germany. The workshop is still in operation today under the ownership of Alfred's grandson, Gerald.

This pernambuco specie violin bow is round in section with a leather grip, solid nickel endscrew, and a bone tip. GERMANY is stamped on the bottom flat of the stick between the frog and the endscrew. The half-lined ebony frog features a mother-of-pearl slide and Parisian eyes.
