Full-Time Luthier

We are looking for an experienced and trained violin maker or restorer to add to our team of professional craftsman. As a luthier, your work would focus on the restoration, repair, and setup of both older vintage and contemporary violins and violas.

  • Our team maintains a high level of craftsmanship while working on the instruments we represent as well as those owned by players in our community.
  • Other responsibilities include speaking with customers to provide estimates and answers to their questions as well as assisting with general workshop operations including managing inventory, organizing, and cleaning as needed.

Qualifications

The applicant must have previous training and a minimum of 3-5 years of professional restoration and repair experience. They must have attention to detail and a teachable spirit. He or she must possess strong time management and communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A bench test at the shop will be part of the interview process.

  • Full-time, hourly position working at the shop 35-40 hours per week.
  • Pay rate: $25-29+ per hour commensurate with experience.
  • Moving allowance offered when relocating a family.
  • Applicants should be prepared to work all business hours: Tuesday from 9:00 am until 8:00 pm, Wednesday through Friday: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm and two Saturdays per month from 8:30 am - 1:00 pm.

    Full-Time Bow Specialist

    We are looking for an experienced and trained bow specialist to add to our team of professional craftsman. As a bow specialist, your work would focus on bringing both older and commercial level bows back to their full playing potential through restoration, repair, and rehair as well as rehairing customer bows.

    • Our team maintains a high level of craftsmanship while working on the bows we represent as well as those owned by players in our community.
    • Other responsibilities include speaking with customers to provide estimates and answers to their questions as well as assisting with general workshop operations including managing inventory, organizing, and cleaning as needed.
