TOURTE Silver-mounted Violin Bow – Germany, Early 1900’s – Beautiful Older Bow! – CURRENTLY OUT ON TRIAL –
Stamped on the player side
We have a beautiful older handmade German bow in excellent condition. This bow has its original fittings with a splendid silver tip. The bow is of pernambuco specie, firm in playing, nice selection of wood, octagonal in section and the winding is a silver woven thread, which also gives testimony to the bow’s period and origin. The ebony frog is mounted in nickel fittings, this silver work like the tip is all pinned in place, no screws. The frog has large mother of pearl eyes and a three-piece endscrew. This is a 120 year old bow plays well; I like the strength of the bow and its balance.
