PAULOS BUZATTO

We have a beautiful sterling silver bow made by Paulos in Brazil The wood is pernambuco, octagonal in section, and nice and firm in its makeup. When a bow maker selects the wood for a silver mounted bow, he chooses a much higher quality piece of wood for this level. The maker is grading the wood himself and is finding/selecting a piece of wood worth putting his full name on the bow and worthy of doing all of the jewelry work in a precious metal. The stick is the most important part of a bow in my mind, it is the soul of the bow. It determines the playability and quality of sound that comes from your instrument. Yes, all of the components of a bow are important and add to the performance of a particular bow, but if you don’t have an awesome stick all the other stuff is just dressing on a salad. The fittings are sterling silver in the frog and for the winding. The head to his bow is very masculine and the stick itself is deep dark pernambuco cut in octagonal section. The fleck in the grain is noticeable, straight and visible adding to its strength. The frog is a Parisian eye model with full silver mounts and a three-piece end button. The bow handles well and flies on my radar as an excellent choice for a player. This stick will put out strength and overtones on any violin. A handmade bow from Brazil.
