Oskar C. Meinel – 3/4 Size German Violin Bow circa 1960-1970
$695.00
We have a sweet late 20th century 3/4 size violin bow. The stick is pernambuco specie, round section, nickel silver mounted in an ebony half-lined frog. The bow has a bone tip and a solid nickel silver endscrew. The Oskar Meinel name was a trade name used by the Roth firm throughout the 20th century to increase imports to the U.S.A. The Roth workshop produced beautiful handmade instruments and bows and a higher level of trade instruments and bows. Our bow is made well and the pernambuco wood choice is above average for a fractional size bow. The Roth workshop standards have always been high, and the shop continues to this day making string instruments and bows. This bow is firm in its strength, light in its weight, and very easy to control.
Weight fully haired is 55.0 grams.
