Non-Stamped Pernambuco Viola Bow- West Germany circa 1970

Are you looking for a great bread and butter viola bow? This bow has no stamp from a famous maker, just good bones for a bow. The bow is only stamped W. GERMANY on the butt of the bow. This stamp is behind the frog and next to the mortise on the stick. The bow is made of pernambuco wood, has nickel silver fittings on the frog and winding and is in octagonal section. I have gone over the entire stick giving it a new tip, a new winding with leathers, and fresh hair. The frog is a Parisian eye model and it is fully lined. The heel and end button are pinned in place and the lining on the frog has two bronze screws for the mount. The bow is a very nice trade bow. The stick is firm in its fight and is a great entrance bow into the pernambuco world for a violist.
