Founded in the United States in 2004, L’Archet Brasil had a mission to distribute bows made by skilled luthiers in Brazil. The business model was that L’Archet would distribute the bows in the U.S. and the bowmakers would retain their independence. L’Archet has since expanded to Europe and Japan. In Portugal, they have five bowmakers and three apprentices.

The bow was handmade in Portugal by Marcello Pereira for J.R. Judd Violins and is round section, pernambuco, and mounted in nickel silver with a nickel winding with red accent silk thread. The ebony frog is a Parisian eye model; mother-of-pearl eyes surrounded by thin silver ring. The frog is fully lined, and the bow is finished with a leather thumb grip, bone tip, and the adjuster is octagonal with a three-piece button. Gorgeous bow, excellent craftsmanship.
