We have a German-made Günter Von Aue violin made from seasoned European spruce and maple. The choice of woods for the instrument is way above average, and the violin is made with all of the correct specs in its plate thicknesses and arching. The violin is lightweight and speaks well. This violin is a step-up instrument and plays well beyond at what I first thought. The varnish is slightly antiqued, giving the instrument an old-world look. We have cut all new fittings for the instrument, helping raise the violin’s performance level.
Corpus 356.0 mm., Major Width 207.0 mm., Minor Width 169.0 mm Rib Height 30.0 mm
The violin has a deep and powerful sound on the bass side. It is more than rich, it is warm and mature. It leans towards darker colors. The violin has sustain and speaks clearly, offering the player strength of tone when you need it and brilliance when you play on the treble side. The overall sound is beautiful and could even be a great instrument for the player that already has their dream instrument and looking for an everyday instrument that has it visually and in its sound.
