The instrument is in the essential Mirecourt style. It’s a refined French beauty from the very well know Salzard family. The condition of this grande pattern is extraordinary and it is an excellent example of mid to late century Mirecourt work. There are no cracks or damages. The edges, corners and varnish are preserved very well and the length of the back plate is 360.0 mm.
The sound of the violin is beyond great. The violin has a gutsy lower register with a brilliant and sweet high register. The player can travel from the bottom to the top of the instrument without any real change in character. It is consistently warm and lively. The instrument has plenty of volume and quick response. The serious player will love this classic French violin.
