→ EDW. HERRMANN*** GERMAN Viola Bow circa 1960
A fine German viola bow made by Edwin Otto Herrmann. This model viola bow with the arrow preceding the brand was first made by Otto in 1952. Our bow was probably made a little later than that in the 1960's. Edw. Otto Herrmann was a highly esteemed maker born in 1893. The stick is of pernambuco specie, octagonal-section, with full nickel mounts. It features an ebony frog accented by a mother-of-pearl slide and Parisian eyes, and is finished with a three-piece nickel and ebony button.
Weight fully haired 73.5 grams.
