3/4 Size Brazilwood Violin Bow circa 1980
$325.00

The bow is octagonal section, brazilwood, and nickel mounted fittings. Brazilwood is in the same family of wood as pernambuco. This wood is used for fractional bows. I did some extra work to get this bow ready for the showroom. The bow has a new bone tip and a new imitation whalebone winding with a leather thumb grip. If I had gone with a nickel wire winding the bow weight would have pushed up to about 59.0 grams, which is too heavy for a young player’s 3/4 size bow. This winding gives the bow charm and feels cool to hold. The new winding helped to balance the bow with a proper gram weight. The ebony frog is nickel mounted and is fully lined. It is a Parisian eye model frog with a 3-piece end button. The bow is in great condition and ready for the next young player looking to get a great sound from their violin.
Weight fully haired 55.1 grams
