The first confirmed date in the history of Klingenthal violin making is 8 October 1669. Klingenthal is the home of violin and bow making in the Saxonian Vogtland region. The town is in present day Germany and right on the border with the Czech Republic. This bow is from that region made in and around 1900. The bow is not stamped and is in excellent condition. If we had a maker’s brand on the bow I would say the price would be double what we are asking. The bow is of pernambuco specie, round-section, sterling silver mount with silver tinsel thread winding with green accent thread. The bow has great balance and playability.

Weight fully haired 60.8 grams.
