M.F. WIKI- German Pernambuco Viola Bow circa 1970

click picture to enlarge

We have a pernambuco specie commercial viola bow in octagonal section made in the 1970’s. Made in a German workshop for sure, the stick has good bones. The bow is fully mounted in nickel fittings. I left the leather winding as is to keep the balance and the overall weight of the stick on the lighter side. The frog has a silver plate that helps connect the frog to the actual stick. This bow is in very good condition and the mother-of-pearl slide is a standout in color. The stick is on the lighter side for a viola bow with nickel silver mounts. The bow plays well and is a sleeper for someone looking for a wood viola bow. The bow is priced to sell and would make a great fit for the player would is looking for a beginning wooden viola bow.

Weight fully haired 66.0 grams.
