LONDONER Sterling Silver Three Star Cello Bow circa 1990
$829.00
Stamped:
We have a sterling silver mounted Londoner cello bow. This bow is made in central China by the Luoyang JinQue Musical Instrument Company. It is one of their higher-level cello bows. The bow was made in 2015 and is pernambuco, sterling silver mounted and completed in an octagonal section. It is a firm bow, which is great for a player, and will play extremely well for an intermediate player. The frog is sterling mounted with a striking mother-of-pearl slide and two pearl eyes surrounded by silver. The heel, silver button, and the lining are secured to the frog with excellent pin work. Well done by the maker. The silver work is outstanding, and the stick has been finished with a great amount of detail. The button is a solid silver cap, and the tip is bone. I have given the bow thorough cleaning and polishing and a new leather thumb grip. The bow is in very good to excellent condition and is ready for the next player’s quiver. This would be a fantastic bow for an intermediate student looking to get into a sterling silver mounted pernambuco cello bow. It is a strong player assisted in firmness by the octagonal carving. This bow stands out at this price and can easily rival a German or Brazilian cello bow in the $1200 – $1395 range. Don’t let the fact that this bow was made in China dissuade you. There are some very fine craftsmen there. I can attest to that fact. This is a well-made bow, sterling silver mounted. Mr. Judd highly recommends trying this cello bow for an intermediate player.
