Copyists have always been around in the art world. Violins have always been copied. Bows, and especially violin and cello bows, have been no exception too. This German bow features the name of one of the most famous French bow makers there has ever been, Eugene Sartory from Paris. The pernambuco wood in the bow is perfect, tight grained, firm and planned out well. The camber of the bow occurs like a real Sartory soon after the head. The stick shows awesome color and is dense in its makeup. The bow is round-section and completed with sterling silver mounts with the tradition solid silver Sartory end cap. The button is an octagon. The frog is Parisian eye model with fine pin work on the heel, button, and holding the lining in place. The craftsmanship is at a high level, and the bow has nice strength that is able to deliver great sound off your violin. This bow has no issues and is in excellent condition. If I knew exactly who made this stick, I think it would go for a few thousand dollars more. It is that nice. If you would not think of owning the real thing, a French E. Sartory for $40K, this bow might be just the thing to make your violin sing.
