Creone Jose da Silva is a fine bow maker from Brazil. I know him personally. We also have excellent violin and violas bows in the shop made by Creone. This bass bow was made in in December 2025 and delivered to us here at the shop two weeks after the pernambuco CITES requirements were lifted in January 2026. It is a beautiful handmade bow that is a round in section pernambuco German model bass bow. The bow is fully mounted in sterling silver with no wind which is not necessary for a German model bow. The frog is ebony and blind eye – no pearls in the frog. The frog is stamped with the maker’s name on the upper right of the player’s side. There is a mother-of-pearl slide with some subtle color on the frog. The tip is made in casein, not ivory, and the balance point of the bow is at 28.0 cm with the entire length of the bow at 76.0 cm. The endscrew is an ebony adjuster with a silver collar. The pernambuco is older wood with a slight flex and is a strong player. Yes, this is a fantastic stick! This is a high-level professional bow, perfect for the advancing or professional player.

The bow comes with a certificate from the maker.
