A.O. Eklid, Chicago 1899 Violin

We are delighted to offer this fine American violin by the Norwegian-born Arnt Eklid.  Mr. Eklid’s work shows the hand of a confident, talented craftsman with an unfettered approach to violin making.  The top and back plates are slightly wide and superbly arched endowing the instrument with a broad, deep sound rich in color and character.  The elegantly carved scroll and tastefully applied red-brown varnish are among the other striking attributes of this violin.
