A. Lima- Brasil 3/4 Size Pernambuco Violin Bow 2017 – SOLD JUNE 25, 2025 –
$695.00

Stamped:
3/4 size pernambuco violin bow made by A. Lima in Brazil for J. R. Judd Violins. The bow is round section and finished off in nickel mounts and has no other markings or stamps on the bow. The ebony frog is a Parisian eye model, the slide has a lovely colorful pearl, and it is finished off with a three-piece end button- silver/ebony/silver- with a pearl eye on the end of the button. The winding is an imitation whale bone completed with black leather for the thumb grip. The stick is orange/brown in color and is just oiled. I have gone over the entire bow and probably spent much more time than I should on a 3/4 size bow. But I really like the stick, and it is much better than a student level bow. The stick, head, and winding are hand carved and the stick was hand fitted to an Otto Paulus frog made in Germany. The bow received a new white tip facial in tip armor and the winding received a new leather to encapsulate the frog end. The bow is firm in its playability and will handle off the string articulations well.
A very nice fractional bow for the player looking for something much nicer than a carbon fiber fractional bow. The stick was made in Brazil, the frog from Germany mated and fitted to the stick in Brazil, and restorative work done right here in Williamsport, PA. Nice bow ready for a young player to give it a new home.
