Pre-war Mirecourt, France Violin – Great Sound!
We have added to our collection this well-worn Mirecourt violin. This is a sleeper violin with no exact makers name, no brand or label on the violin. Mirecourt was the hub of violin making for hundreds of years in France. Many luthiers were trained and studied for years there with master makers before venturing out on their own to large cities like Paris, London, New York and Boston. This instrument is big on personality and replete with natural wear. We have cut all new fittings for the instrument and completely gone over the violin. There are no issues.
The sound is decidedly brilliant and lustrous, and resonates nicely throughout its slightly large frame. If you are truly just looking for an instrument for its sound quality and not a know name, this could be your find. It is a truly unique violin which has been played hard–for good reason.
