Wilhelm Raum, German Cello Bow, circa 1960 – Branded Initials & Crest on the Players side Frog

This cello bow was made for the trade in the 1960’s in the Markneukirchen area of Germany. It is branded “WILHELM RAUM” and has the WR crest branded on the player’s side of the ebony frog. The stick is a firm piece of pernambuco wood in octagonal-section and is classically dark as well as strong. The bow has natural playing wear with some nicks and patina on the stick itself. The bow has been fully restored here in our workshop is finished in nickel mounts and is in good condition. A German stick waiting for a serious player looking for a bow with a heavier gram weight.
