Salvadore de Durro – German Violin “B & J New York Sole Importers” circa 1912

$2,400.00

The Salvadore de Durro is a made-up name, a trade instrument with nice age, not a real maker. It was an imported brand of B & J (Buegeleisen & Jackson) violins from Germany. The violin is at least or very close to 100 years old in fantastic condition. It is also visually striking with a deep red-brown varnish.
The sound of the violin is sweet and pleasent to hear. It has the power to carry in a large room and concert hall.
The response of the strings is quick, clean and articulate.
