Pre WWII German Cello Bow – SOLD 7/9/2019
This is a very nice German bow with some age. The brand on the players side is totally worn away and just not legible. This is not a bad sign. Someone loved the bow and played. Good sign. The bottom flat of the stick behind the frog is stamped GERMANY all in caps. The bow has a gorgeous natural patina and is not damaged in any way. The pernambuco stick strikes me with its deep red-brown color. The bow is of octagonal section, ebony frog with Parisian eye mounted in sterling silver. The bow has a three-piece end screw and a beautiful mother of pearl slide. Age, beauty and playability are hallmarks of this bow. As sterling silver bows go this stick will rises above many commercially made sterling mounted cello bows.
