Old German Trade Violin- Markneukirchen circa 1930 – SOLD 12/19/2019
This violin bears the label Andreas Guarnerius. The label is not very legible. The violin is in very nice condition. The maple is highly flamed along with the ribs. Nice workmanship in a lightweight violin. The arching is low which lends itself to a nice sounding violin. We have completed the instrument with all ebony fittings and a German Wittner tail-piece.
The sound is robust. It surprised me at how well the European instrument responded, quick and lively. It is rich and lush as well as even on all four strings. This violin has a wow sound and is perfect for the intermediate player who wants a sleeper. A sleeper is a great sounding instrument with no specific maker named or branded.
