Götz – 4/4 Cello Bow, Germany 1960
This is a very nice student level pernambuco 4/4 cello bow. New, old stock, never used just recently re-haired. The Götz Music Instrument Co. has been in existence in Erlangen, Germany since 1884. The company has survived through two major wars and many generations, still family owned. This bow was probably made for the Götz in the town of Bubenreuth, Germany, located about 25 miles north of the store where still today many violin, lute, recorder, and bass makers live and thrive making their instruments and bows. Götz then brand their company name branded on the frog. Octagonal section, pernambuco specie, nickel mounts. This will make a great playing stick for the student who would like to get into a wood specie bow. Excellent value for the money.
Weight fully haired 81.3 grams.
