G. A. Pfretzschner, Markneukirchen circa 1900 – SOLD 6/24/2020
A finely made German Strad model branded G.A. Pfretzschner, Markneukirchen. This violin works at all levels. It's very attractive, comfortable in its neck, setup, and sounds great. The condition is excellent with one small restored wing split. The oil varnish is tastefully done and contains natural patina. The sound is reedy, woody yet this instrument speaks clearly. The tone is smooth and it retains these qualities in the bass but I find it gets a sweeter tone in the treble strings.
