E.M.B. – German, Beautiful Sterling Silver Viola Bow

Made in Germany circa 1920’s this octagonal viola bow was actually made by an unknown worker of very good skill. E.M.B. stands for Music Education Bureau; E.M.B. bows were made by individual bowmakers and sold to the Bureau in Germany who then sold them to American teacher’s colleges and music schools. Pernambuco specie, octagonal-section, sterling silver mount, ebony frog, and a sterling silver adjuster. The beautiful ebony frog is blind, and the bow has a nice weight and plays very well.
