Bazin Stamped Bow

Round-section pernambuco bow with sterling silver mount, tip, and winding. This bow is stamped “Bazin” on both the frog and the stick, but this is not believed to be a Bazin bow; the stamps were added subsequent to the making of the bow. The frog, which features a mother-of-pearl Parisian eye, is mounted nearer to the tip than in usual, with the result being that the bow feels lighter in the hand than other bows of the same weight.
