Otto Kerner was born in Markneukirchen, 1892 and died in Zittau, 1956. He worked as a violin maker in Vienna until he started his own shop in Zittau in 1920. Zittau is located in the Free State of Saxony, Germany close to the borders of Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic.
This violin is a Stradivari pattern. Well flamed two piece maple back. Two piece spruce top. Light amber brown varnish with natural patina. Fitted in ebony and Dominant strings with a Pirastro Gold Label E. This violin has a powerful sound that is not too bright.

This violin features a two piece highly flamed maple back. Matching ribs, neck and scroll. Two piece spruce top. The back and top plates each contain two centering pins. It features a traditional neck and fingerboard made of maple, spruce and ebony giving it a very light weight feel. This violin also features a 40 year old ornate maple lyre bridge, a traditional handmade Baroque tailpiece in ebony and ebony fittings with white ivory accents. The violin is strung with traditional gut A and E strings and Eudoxa G and D strings. Eudoxa strings are sterling silver wound on gut.

This is an Italian violin made in the hometown of Stradivari by a student of Stefano Conia. Hungarian born, Stefano Conia studied violin making at the International Violinmakers School in Cremona as did his father. He was also hired by the Cremona School where he spent twenty years teaching violin making. Conia oversaw the construction of this violin.
The violin contains a two-piece highly flamed maple back with matching ribs. The table has an even straight grain. The Italian varnish is a golden yellow. This is an instrument all intermediate to professional players should try.

This is a handmade American violin. Robert Glier was born in Markneukirchen, Germany in 1855. He came to America and worked for Rudolph Wurlitzer in Cincinnati, Ohio from 1883 - 1900. He then established his own shop.
Two piece maple back, highly flamed. Matching ribs, neck and scroll. Two piece spruce top of medium width grain. Contains an amber-red spirit varnish on a yellow ground. Fitted boxwood with ebony collars and pins and ebony fret on the tailpiece. Strung with Thomastik Dominant strings and a Pirastro Gold Label E. There is a repaired wing split but otherwise the instrument is in excellent condition.
