Eastman Model 200 Violins

The Eastman Model 200 violin represents the first in Eastman Strings' line-up of advanced instruments. Each violin is entirely hand-crafted from well seasoned, select tonewoods. The instruments are fitted with ebony fingerboards and hand-carved boxwood pegs, tailpiece, and chinrest with ebony trim.

Each Eastman Model 200 violin is hand-fit in our shop with a French Aubert or Despiau maple bridge and Thomastik Dominant strings with a Pirastro Gold Label E string.

Eastman Model 205 Violins

The Eastman Model 205 violin is entirely hand-crafted from European tonewoods and features a red brown varnish. The instruments are fitted with ebony fingerboards and hand-carved ebony pegs, tailpiece, and chinrest.

This is a very good sounding commercial violin. The instrument body is made in China and finished here in the United States. The instrument features a slightly flamed back and a well pronounced spruce top. The instrument contains the traditional ebony fittings with great set up work.

Five String Violin

Handmade Chinese violin. One piece highly flamed maple back. Matching ribs. Two piece spruce top of medium width grain. The violin is set up with Parisian eye ebony fittings. This instrumnet has a violin set up with a low C string as the fifth string.

The SV300 features medium figure, tasteful antiquing, and accurate graduation. Its tone is strong and rich. This model has been our most popular violin for the advancing student, offering superior performance for its price range.

The Samuel Shen Model 300 features an orange-brown varnish upon a golden base, a French Aubert or Despiau maple bridge, and Thomastik Dominant strings with a Pirastro Gold Label E string.

Old German Violin

This is an older commercial German violin that does not bear a label. It has an outstanding one piece flamed maple back plate with matching ribs, neck and scroll. Dark amber-brown varnish with ebony pegs and tailpiece. Set up with Thomastik Dominant strings with a Pirastro Gold Label E. This violin does contain some restored splits on the lower right quadrant of the top plate.

Romania, 2010. The "Koscielny #5" violin was made in the workshop of Calin Wultur. The violin features a two piece maple back with a light figure and a two piece spruce top of medium width grain. Finished in an orange-brown spirit varnish. Fitted in ebony and Thomastik Dominant strings with a Pirastro Gold Label E.

The Eastman Model 305 Violin is hand-crafted entirely from solid tone woods; the top is select spruce and the back, ribs, and scroll are highly flamed maple. An antique-style spirit varnish is hand-applied, and the instrument is fitted with boxwood pegs, tailpiece, and chinrest with ebony trim.

Martin Beck

A moderately-priced Romanian violin. Two-piece maple back of medium flame, with flames descending slightly from center seam. Matching ribs, neck, and scroll. Two-piece spruce top of medium-width grain. Orange-brown varnish on a golden base. Slight patina and wear. Fitted in ebony with Dominant strings and a Pirastro Gold E.

Available in 3/4 and 4/4 size.

Adelsdorf, Germany 2005. Two-piece maple back of medium flame descending from center seam. Similar ribs, matching neck and scroll. Two-piece spruce top of varying width grain. Shaded golden-brown varnish with slight antiquing. Fitted in ebony with Dominant strings and a Pirastro Gold E.

Ivan Dunov Superior Violins

Old-world craftsmanship and materials come together in our Ivan Dunov instruments. Crafted in a traditional workshop in Romania from superb Carpathian tone woods, these instruments provide excellent sound and playability.

The Ivan Dunov Superior has a solid spruce top and maple back, ribs, and scroll. The instrument is finished by hand in the United States with an antique-style varnish. The Ivan Dunov Superior produces a colorful and complex tone.

Each Ivan Dunov Superior violin is fitted with a French Aubert or Despiau maple bridge, Thomastik Dominant strings and a Pirastro Gold Label E String.

Francis Pittock Model 625

Named in honor of Francis Pittock. He was an outstanding teacher from Ohio and Pennsylvania. Francis contributed to the development of numerous fine instrumentalists. Professor Pittock died in 1992.

This instrument will make a great violin for an intermediate to more serious violin student. It has a focused bottom that carries very well and a rich, sweet top on the treble strings. Two-piece highly flamed maple back. The violin is artistically antiqued with simulated wear patterns and the varnish has a slightly crackled look. Boxwood fittings.

Jean-Pierre Lupot Violins

Beijing, China, Anno 2008. Two piece maple back, well flamed. Two piece spruce top. Antiqued spirit varnish contains some red pigment. This violin is a Stradivari pattern, fitted in ebony and Dominant Strings.

Early 1900 German Violin

This older German Strad pattern violin is from the early 1900s. It is in excellent condition and has a great sound. The amber brown varnish is slightly antiqued on the edges and the violin has a slight mustache on the top plate. Fitted in ebony and Thomastik Dominant strings.

Benjamin Lee Violins

Created in the Benjamin Lee Workshop, the Benjamin Lee violins feature seasoned, flamed maple and select spruce. They are finished with an antiqued dark brown oil varnish.

Each Benjamin Lee violin is fitted with a French Aubert or Despiau maple bridge, ebony or rosewood fittings, and Thomastik Dominant strings with a Pirastro Gold Label E string. Stradivari and Guarneri models are both available.

Camillo Callegari instruments are crafted in China and finished here at J.R. Judd Violins. Two piece highly flamed maple back with matching ribs. Two piece spruce top. The violin pictured is fitted in all ebony with Parisian eye pegs and Thomastik Dominant strings with a Pirastro Gold Label E. These violins have a rich, powerful evenness of sound that rivals violins in the $3,000-$4,000 range.

Cracovia Workshop Violin

Made in Cracovia, Poland, 2003. This Deluxe model violin has a powerful sound. Features a beautiful one piece slab cut maple back. The slab cut gives the back plate a quilted look. Two piece spruce top of medium grain consistent throughout. Fitted in rosewood with brass collars and balls, an ebony crown on the heel and Evah Pirazzi strings.
